Joe Biden isn’t a “unity” candidate -- whatever that means -- but a disciple of the Obama school politics. Such a governing philosophy gives the appearance of being moderate and making compromise only to do the opposite. This rampant deception will never unify anyone.
Consider Obama on healthcare. Obama said, for instance, “if you like your doctor, you’ll be able to keep your doctor; if you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your healthcare plan.” Even the so called “objective” site Politifact called this “The Lie of Year.” They said that because as the left wing NBC news said “Obama admin knew millions could not keep their health insurance… buried in Obamacare regulations… is an estimate that because of normal turnover in the individual insurance market, “40 to 67 percent” of customers will not be able to keep their policy.”
Obama also said, in apparent nod to bipartisanship that was absent during his administration, that:
the pundits like to slice-and-dice our country into Red States and Blue States; red States for Republicans, Blue States for Democrats. But I’ve got news for them, too. We worship an awesome God in the Blue States, and we don’t like federal agents poking around our libraries in the Red States. We coach Little League in the Blue States and have gay friends in the Red States. There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq and patriots who supported it. We are on people, all of us pledging allegiance to the stars and stripes, all of us defending the United States of America.
Of course the God of the Blue States -- perhaps no more than Obama himself -- had no problem using the IRS to delay the tax exempt status for nonprofits during the Lois Lerner scandal of 2013.
Like Obama Biden has a history of making statements that appear to reflect bipartisan compromise, only to do the opposite. Biden, for instance, promised to not ban fracking. Then Biden claimed on twitter “ As president, I’ll put America on a path to achieve a carbon-pollution free electricity sector by 2035 -- a path that no future president can turn back.”
Do you think that really means he won’t ban fracking?
Additionally on one hand Biden will also claim “racism is deep within the DNA and the bones of the structures of our nation.” On the other hand Biden has no problem making remarks like “if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.” How’s that for addressing systemic racism?
Thus until Biden addresses his own internal contradictions no one will ever believe he can unify anything. Liars never win nor do they bring people together.
