Week In Review Jan 3 - 8 2022
PA GOP gubernatorial primary, Biden's anti-market agenda, article recap
Greetings!
It’s been an uneventful week hasn’t it?
Or maybe it was more eventful than we might initially expect.
In this week’s news, for instance, the Biden administration threatened to break up meat producers in a desperate attempt to reduce the costs of beef and poultry products. What the administration fails to understand, however, is that the price increases are primarily stem from labor shortages they caused.
Other top stories include the Supreme Court giving the indication that they will likely block Biden’s vaccine mandate. While some would consider this a promising development, it’s not clear that the eventual ruling will do enough to curtail executive branch agencies from abusing their power in the future.
At the state level there was a GOP gubernatorial primary debate. The quality of the debate left much to be desired, but some candidates boosted their stock. Guy Ciarrochi, Scott Martin, Charlie Gerow, and Bill McSwain all proved to be capable communicators who could mobilize voters.
Outside of those items it’s been a pretty slow newsweek. But politics is like war — half the battle is in positioning. We’ll keep you up to date with the major happenings at the federal and state level as they happen.
Articles
This week’s series of articles focused on cultural and political issues.
We discussed
how being self-interested is actually an altruistic behavior
the futility of most debates and other tactics that could be used instead to change people’s minds
how America’s government is bearing an increasing resemblance’s to China’s
and after reviewing these articles I’ve realized there’s still some room for stylistic improvement. Occasionally my articles will contain sentences that are too long, lack transitions, or contain ambiguities. Nevertheless I hope the consistent publication schedule and the novelty of the ideas expressed are favorably viewed.
Lastly the show that was expected to take place this Sunday from 12 — 1PM has been postponed due to illness. We’ll get started next week with a surprise guest or two!
That’s all I have!
Until next time!
Sincerely,
Zig
