The capitalist economy is one of the greatest things that ever happened to free speech.
By enriching the middle class more people, capitalism allowed more people to have more say in civil society than ever before.
That’s why people should proudly pursue more wealth -- more wealth means more opportunities for meaningful speech for everyone.
When everyone, for instance, has more than enough to cover the necessities then more people can speak with greater confidence without fear of reprisal or punishment.
Likewise even a moderate amount of wealth provides greater opportunities to speak freely. The innovations that capitalism has facilitated allows more people, for instance, to reach even larger audiences to amplify one’s point than ever before.
Poverty, on the other hand, either leads to indifference at best or dependency at its worst.
Likewise speech in a communist society is no better.
Under communism speech, at its governmentally approved best, can be used to puppet the “correct” opinion of the masses. Otherwise dissent is not tolerated -- except as a means for people to out themselves as enemies of the people’s regime.
Thus neither poverty nor communism is suitable for a society in love with speech and all the interesting things people of all backgrounds have to say.
Indeed both socialism and poverty are only ever praised by fragile tyrants whose spiritual bankruptcy resents being enriched by the joys of free speech.
Accordingly both are esteemed in public schools and their academic overlords in the university system. This explains why members of society have become poorer in both their morals and wallets.
So to reverse this trend to make America great in both word and deed — speak freely and make money!
